Serpui Marie initially studied chemistry and even earned a doctorate in the subject, but could not deny her talent and ambition to become a designer. Originally inspired at a young age by the poppies and exotic flora near her home in Brazil, Serpui would use these flowers to decorate straw bags from the local markets. Now a 10-year veteran of the fashion industry, Serpui runs her own atelier in São Paulo, and is well known and respected by American fashion stylists and editors.
